Elegantly Designed Jewelry Inspired by the Lotus Flower

The Lotus 1 Realism Collection stands out from other designs with its attention to detail. The lotus flower is designed realistically, including intricate elements like the stamen and seed pod, which are often omitted in other designs. These details differentiate the lotus flower from the lily, which is often mistaken for the lotus. The diamonds are set in a bezel setting, adding a touch of elegance to the pieces.

The jewelry pieces in the Lotus 1 Realism Collection can be easily 3D printed, casted, and manufactured in rose, white, or yellow gold. The collection includes rings, earrings, and necklaces, each meticulously crafted to capture the beauty and essence of the lotus flower.

The design process for the Lotus 1 Realism Collection involved traditional jewelry sketching, drawing, and rendering, followed by 3D CADCAM in Rhino 5 with Matrix 9. This combination of traditional and modern techniques ensured that the designs were both aesthetically pleasing and technically feasible.

The Lotus 1 Realism Collection offers a variety of options for jewelry enthusiasts. The rings are available in different types, including duo types with a drop fine white South Sea cultured pearl. The earrings feature a combination of diamonds and a drop pearl, while the necklaces come in two types, both adorned with diamonds and a strand of round uniform fashion white South Sea cultured pearls.

Comfort and wearability were key considerations in the design process. The jewelry pieces are not bulky or heavy, ensuring that they can be enjoyed by the wearer. The labor and cost of manufacturing were also taken into account, resulting in designs that are easy to manufacture and cost-efficient.

The Lotus 1 Realism Collection was a result of extensive research and creative problem-solving. The designer, Way Tay, visited gardens and homes with lotus flowers to study and photograph the subject in detail. Library research was also conducted to gather information about the lotus and other related botanical backgrounds.

The design process presented several challenges, such as designing the small-size lotus stamens for traditional casting by hand. Way Tay experimented with various stamen designs before settling on an organic-looking design that captured the essence of the lotus. Another challenge was designing the necklace to wrap nicely around the wearer's neck, shoulder, and chest. This involved creating multiple sections with movable hinges to ensure a comfortable fit.

The Lotus 1 Realism Collection is a testament to the designer's dedication and attention to detail. It is a celebration of the beauty and symbolism of the lotus flower, capturing its essence in exquisite jewelry pieces. The collection has received recognition for its design, winning the Iron A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2019.
